Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 April 2026
This page explains what SharedGroceryList collects when you join the waitlist at waitlist.sharedgrocerylist.me, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We've kept it short and plain because the site only does one thing: take your email so we can let you know when the product launches.
Who we are
SharedGroceryList is a pre-launch product built by Allegiant Dev. This policy covers the waitlist site only. A separate policy will apply to the SharedGroceryList app once it launches.
What we collect
When you submit the waitlist form we collect:
- Your email address — required, so we can let you know when SharedGroceryList is ready and send occasional updates about the launch.
- Optional survey responses — if you choose to answer any of the survey questions after signing up (your biggest grocery-shopping frustration, current method, household size, and any free-text feedback), we store those responses alongside your email. Every survey question is optional and you can close the survey at any time without losing your spot.
We also collect basic analytics about your visit through the third-party services described under Cookies and tracking below. We don't ask for or store any other personal information.
Why we collect it, and the legal basis
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, the legal basis for processing your email and any survey answers is your consent, given when you submit the form. We use the data to:
- Notify you when SharedGroceryList is available;
- Understand which problems matter most to potential users so we can prioritize features;
- Measure how many people are signing up and from which channels.
How long we keep it
We keep your email and survey responses until SharedGroceryList launches, plus up to 12 months after, so we can invite you to the launched product and follow up if needed. If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will remove it within 30 days.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of third-party processors:
- Microsoft Azure — hosts the API that stores your email and survey responses.
- Google Analytics 4 — measures aggregate, mostly anonymous visit and conversion data.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — measures page views and waitlist signup conversions for ad reporting on Meta platforms.
We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers beyond the standard pixel-based ad reporting described above, or use it for anything outside the purposes listed in this policy.
Cookies and tracking
The site uses cookies and similar identifiers set by Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel for analytics and ad measurement. You can block these using your browser's third-party cookie controls, a tracking-protection extension (such as uBlock Origin), or the privacy controls offered by Google and Meta directly. The SharedGroceryList waitlist site itself does not set any first-party marketing cookies.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU, GDPR gives you the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you;
- Have any inaccurate data corrected;
- Have your data deleted;
- Withdraw your consent at any time;
- Object to how we use your data;
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you think we've handled your data unfairly.
If you live elsewhere, similar rights may apply under your local law (for example, the CCPA in California).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent change. For any material change, we'll update the page and — for existing waitlist subscribers — send a short notice by email.
